SAFETY INFO:

1) Does your camp run background checks on counselors and staff?
All of our education staff have to be fingerprinted through the Department of Justice prior to being hired to work with our education team.

2) Do your counselors have accreditation and/or experience in the areas they are leading?
A majority of our educators are current college students or recent graduates in the fields of conservation, environmental studies, zoology, and education. Some of our staff are credential teachers. Some of our staff come to us for their first job ever. We tend to have a really diverse crowd which is always a great recipe for an exciting and successful summer.

3) What is your camper to counselor ratio?
We try to stick to a ratio of around 10:1. Each group is typically accompanied by one or two teen volunteers as well.

4) Do you provide CPR/AED training for your counselors and staff?
Yes, we do offer First Aid and CPR/AED as part of our summer Zoo Camp educator training.
