Spend your summer with Santa Barbara Parks & Rec!
With dozens of camp experiences to choose from, campers ages 4-17 can explore topics including art, business, engineering, sports, theater, and water safety. We also offer scholarships and inclusion services for eligible families.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
15 days or more before the start of the program: 90% refund
5 to 14 days before the start of the program: 50% refund. Less than five days before the start of the program: We will not give refunds for withdrawals or cancellations made less than five days before the start of the enrolled camp.

Does your camp run background checks on counselors and staff?:
All staff working with children are required to take a TB skin test and a DOJ livescan.

Do your counselors have accreditation and/or experience in the areas they are leading?:
Some do, some don’t. We have very robust training agendas where we train on: overview of our department, professional behavior, public service and code of conduct, general policies and procedures, safety and emergency response, accident and incident procedures, use and care of facilities and equipment, strategies for positive recreational experiences, inclusion strategies and procedures, how to lead a group of children, SPARK/STEAM activities, effective communication, and more.

What is your camper to counselor ratio?:
It varies from program to program depending on the activities of the program. Ratios never exceed a 20 participant to 1 staff ratio.

Do you provide CPR/AED training for your counselors and staff?:
All of our staff are required to be trained in CPR/First Aid/EpiPen injector.

All of our staff are required to take the State Mandated Reporter Training.
