SHORT DESCRIPTION: Led by professional music educator, Charlie Ortega, this camp is for incoming 6-9th grade students, all levels welcome! Participants will be exposed to all different types of percussion instruments that are used in large percussion ensembles, including snare, marching tenor, bass, hand percussion like conga and djembe, and the melodic percussion, such as marimba, vibraphone, and timpani. Students do not need to bring an instrument to camp.

AGE (OR GRADE): Incoming 6-9th graders

HOURS: The camp is two weeks long, June 17-28, Monday – Friday, from 1-4pm (June 19th will be off and observed as a holiday). There will be a final camp concert on Friday June 28th for family and friends. Drumline Camp is held at La Cumbre Junior High School, 2255 Modoc Road SB 93101

PRICE: $250 scholarships are available
