Camp Wheez
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Camp Wheez is a FREE week-long day camp that blends learning and play in an environment designed to meet the special needs of children with asthma. In addition to activities such as crafts and games, campers learn about asthma and how to confidently manage their symptoms. They enjoy a week full of fun and leave with the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthy, active lives.
Dr. Myron Liebhaber, Sansum Clinic Allergist and Immunologist and Camp Wheez Medical Director, leads a team of volunteer physicians, respiratory care practitioners and nurses who ensure that Camp Wheez meets the highest safety standards.
AGE (OR GRADE): Open to children who will be 6 –12 years old and entering grades 1 – 6 on September 1, 2024
DATES: Monday, August 5 – Friday, August 9, 2024
HOURS: 8:30am to 12:30pm

LOCATION: First Presbyterian Church of Santa Barbara – 21 E Constance Ave, Santa Barbara, CA 93105
NOTES: Campers must bring their own lunch and water bottle. A snack is provided each day. Applications (including Physician Referral) are due by July 19, 2024.

SAFETY INFO: COVID Vaccination Requirements - COVID-19 vaccination is required for all campers.This year we are requiring the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech or Novavax). Previous versions of the vaccine will not be accepted. If there is a medical reason that prevents your child from receiving the vaccine, please contact us.
If your child received the vaccine outside of Sansum Clinic, please email proof of vaccination that shows the date they received the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine to campwheez@sansumclinic.org within 1 week of submitting your application. Your child's application will not be complete until we receive this.
